Starting a regular business is perceived as risky, so how do you go about setting up a business when you don’t even know what you are offering to which people? Most people would probably laugh at you for even thinking about it. Who says they’re right though – have they walked in your shoes? Do they understand your gifts and talents and your sense of purpose to make a difference to this world? Do they feel the passion that is burning inside you to get out?
Do they know anything about business? Do they even know what a pioneering business is? Probably not. You see when somebody creates something new, there is no existing model to base it on. You are leading the way, breaking new ground, initiating new opportunities!
This is one definition of a pioneer:
pi·o·neer (noun)
1. a person or group that is the first to do something or that is a forerunner in creating or developing something new
2. somebody who goes into previously uncharted or unclaimed territory with the purpose of exploring it and possibly colonizing or settling it
3. a foot soldier whose duties include going ahead of the main company to pave the way for them by building roads, ditches, bridges, and other constructions
4. the first species of plant or animal life to begin living in a previously unoccupied site, for example, a moss beginning to grow on otherwise bare rock
