There was a TV prog about Alan recently, where he told of his experience as a kidnapee. (is that a word??)

However, the story was really simple - he was kidnapped, shoved into a room where he stayed for the whole time, and was not treated badly by the kidnappers. It could have been told in 15 minutes but they stretched it out for an hour. He also has an extremely monotonous voice, I'm afraid. Not great watching at all.
