Last year I attended the best festival I've ever been to (although I must admit I haven't been to very many). It was called The Sunrise Celebration and was held in Somerset and it was also the very first one.

I was pleased to discover there's going to be another one this year from 31st May until 4th June which you can read all about at http://www.sunrisecelebration.com

It really was an incredible experience and if you don't mind roughing it in a tent for 5 days, in a field full of hippies, then I highly recommend going :)

The only downside for me last year was that I went on my own and although I met several cool people I think I would have enjoyed it even more if I had been with a larger group of people.

Anyway, I intend on being there again this year, so if any Holistic Local members care to join me then let me know. Perhaps we can create a little Holistic Local village in the tent field.

There's a couple of reviews here:

Wow - sounds right up my alley! Looks like a grander scale version of our Strawberry Fair in Cambridge.

When I first read your post, I think I imagined a peaceful scene... made me think of our own yearly camping trips. Bit of trivia here for you: we have a group of friends who go camping on the coast every year (around 30 of us), so roughing it in tents sounds excellent. We kind of have our own sunrise thing in the mornings... a handful of us get up at silly o'clock in the morning, climb up the sand dunes and sit there watching the sun rise over the sea. Can't beat it... really reminds you of how little we are. :)

Anyhoo, your festival sounds fab. I've saved the link so I can have a proper read in a mo...

A little story from Sunrise.
Two friends of mine went to the festival last year, he proposed to her and they are getting married in June. :)

Well its tempting ..but you might all get a bit embarrasssed if my past record at green gatherings is anything to go by.....you see I used to end up in just my birthday suit...(a bit too much information hey)...mind you I had the body for it then ....not so sure about now.

Great!! This could be a nice little gathering. I hope you all make it Kimberley, Trinity, Tracy & Natalie. Can't wait to see you there Skye!

And John - you and Jayne have got to be there too. No excuses. I'm sure noone will mind if you end up in your birthday suit. Just remember it's a kid friendly event so no scaring the little 'uns!

Who else is coming?

I just want to bump this back to the top and remind people that the Sunrise festival is in less than 3 weeks.

I've got my ticket already and I would love for any number of Holistic Local members to join me there.

If you're planning on going then please send me a private message and hopefully we can all arrange to camp in the same area.

Andy
