You've probably all heard it ...but just in case you havent Al's dropped himself in it in the hypocrisy stakes. Seemingly he has an annual heating bill of £15000 a year for his 20 room mansion has gas lights on his drive and as a heated outdoor swimming pool.
He got rumbled by some environmentalists who think he should either put up or shut up,

So is this cutting back mallarcky just really for us littlle people?

'Tis only a matter of time. It will all come out in the wash...

How many will use this as a convenient excuse to ignore the truth in their own hearts I wonder?

John, you mean to say an ex poly is not 'walking the talk' wow what a surprise.
As with most poli's, there is one rule for us and one for them.

Oh so true Jon ,but as you say Trinity some will use this as an excuse ....you can just see it happening.

So it will still be nowt like a good disaster to kick us into gear ......and there I was thinking that it was just me who couldn't get his act together first thing in the morning.

By the way we are snug as bugs in our 28 foot caravan with veggie oil heating...all I've got to do now is get all the electrics on 12 volt and we,re kicking out next to nowt.........( Co 2)

Good for you John! Our emmissions are low, although there's room for improvement. We are a low impact family and are cutting back to zero too! We're planning a local strawbale studio, living (more) off the land n'all! Back to nature all the way. 'Tis all beginning to unfold. I can't be doing with all these mod-cons! Nature is calling.

Was just round the corner from home yesterday, and an old Mercedes passed me, I had to do a double take (with much excitement) when I got a whiff of 'the chippy' as it crawled by!!!

Everyone's inconvenient lapse into rationalism
C'mon - give Al a break
You are being very rational in your thinking (to me, a greater threat to mankind than global warming - although of course the cause of it too).
What about net gain? What about we are all one? None of us is beyond being singled out for an indiscretion. That's life.
Hypocrisy is such an easy shot. And it separates, alienates and belittles too - not good.
Green guilt sucks; it's not (w)holy...

Hey Carl,

Pardon me, if I have got my wires crossed here, but WHO excatly are you referring to with this 'guilt' business? I agree entirely that guilt is never a holistic motivational factor.

The media will slate whoever makes a good story... 'tis highly predicatable. I think Al has to date done a great job at getting a certain message across. It is all too common to find people bringing a powerful message to the world, have it pulled apart, leaving it in tatters, giving a fine excuse for those living in denial to carry on blindly ignoring what is going on.

In my view it is better to act from choices made authentically as we connect with the flow of universal consciousness.

We indeed are all 'One'. There is a thread, a core of connectedness that unites us all. With this awareness, how can we not feel compassion for ALL beings?

Can,t help feeling your a bit of an apologist there Carl. He,s a big boy and I reckon he can take it
.
If we defend the right of competition to rule the world...then I defend the right to ask for continuity and integrity from our would be leaders, and by the looks of things so do a lot of others.

Such is the nature of our paradoxical world....one which to a large extent is founded on rationalism and reasoning......to say nothing of mans humanity and inhumanity to man.

If future generations should hold me to account then same goes for Al. ....I don't except the doctrine of ..''Oi you ! back in your box'.'

We may all be one ..but some are more one than others.....for this is the outcome when we sherk our responsibility and abdicate our voice and dare I say it our reasoning to others.

with respect John

ps well said Trinity
