After practicing massage therapy for a couple of years back in 1995 I attempted to use aromatherapy in my sessions. The oils were inconsistent from the sources and some were repulsive. What turned the tide for me was attending an initiation ceremony for ministers. The woman leading the initiation used frankincense that felt and smelled incredible. She had purchased it in China and had no idea how I could get any. The next day I went to the local massage store and bought frankincense. Frankincense is frankincense, right? It was disgusting! I realized then that I had no idea what I was doing and proceeded to pore all my so called essential oils out and give up. A few months later a fellow massage therapist introduced me to Young Living Essential Oils and gave me an essential oil treatment that made me very euphoric. I had an epiphany then that this was what I had been missing. I began to study with the naturopath Dr Gary Young that created these particular oils. I have had several personal experiences as well as witnessing clients have some amazing results using these essential oils. My most severe client had MS and she came to me once a week for 2 1/2 years to receive a technique called raindrop therapy, which is dropping specific oils in a specific order along the spine. I watched her pain and muscle spasms go away and her brain function and digestion come back. Another client says his golf game is awesome after a raindrop therapy session, as it leaves him relaxed and focused at the same time.

After witnessing so many successful experiences I began to teach people how to use the oils in their daily lives and business. Did you know that most personal care products, all pharmaceutical drugs and fast junk food are full of petrochemicals? There are 36,000 cases of mouth cancer a year from our oral hygiene poison personal care products and 500 deaths a year from the alcohol ingestion. What these chemicals do is place a toxic film over your receptor sights that are located at all your nerve endings. These receptor sights when healthy receive hormones for proper body function, but when they are covered with toxins they cannot do their job. The essential oils or plant extracts can digest the petrochemicals in the body and repair the damage. When I give someone a massage, I am giving them a receptor sight bath and in the seminar I teach you will learn how to benefit daily.

Level I - Rediscover the First Medicine

Aromatic plants have been used since the dawn of history. Both the ancient Sumerians and Egyptians recorded the use of over 850 essential oils for healing. Essential oils are more powerful than fresh herbs because they are the lifeblood of the plant. They carry a high vibratory frequency that affect the brain and have a powerful effect on our minds and the healing of illness in our bodies. Learn the quick healing powers of essential oils.

You will greatly benefit from the use of essential oils in your life - both personal and business, whatever your service or profession.

This workshop includes:

* Why disease is so prevalent today and what you can do to
become healthier
* How to clear toxic chemical build-up in your body
* How to alter your emotions
* How to relieve pain
* Remove brain fog and have clear thinking
* How to become more motivated and effective in your life
* Demonstration of how to use the oils for maximum effectiveness
* Hands-on use of the oils for all class participants
and much more

Level II (Experience a Spa Day)

Building on the knowledge gathered in Level I, you will learn how to use the oils
on and in the body. In this hands-on workshop you will learn how to intuitively
use the oils, as well as the "Emotional Release Technique" and the "Raindrop
Therapy Technique". This is a fun and exciting way to take your knowledge to
the next level as you give and receive these healing modalities.

Laura, I have a friend who suffers quite badly with MS. Can you advise about the "Raindrop Therapy". I live close by to the Hitchin Lavender Farm. Do you need any? regards Dave

I don't wish to rain on any ones parade but part of what I do is investigate 'junk science' both in the pharaceutical/western medicine world and that of holistic medicine.

Gary Young is unfortunatly not even a Dr or Naturopath as he claims and his methods have not been properly assessed for safety, applying oils neat to patients is something that probably be insured for under aromatherapy insurance, so be careful

If you wnat to have a look at previous research done on gary young please read this

Many thanks

Hello Star - I see you also write for the School of Natural Health Sciences. I don't know if you're aware, but I believe the lady who runs this got into trouble a few years ago for selling fake university diplomas over the internet! She gave that up & has started the SNHS. She gives an address in London - 2 Lansdowne Row, Berkeley Square (nice address, that! :)) but if you take a look at the link, you will see what it is. I believe she still lives in Malaga. The SNHS may very well be relatively legit (although it's not registered with Companies House), but I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole! Sorry!

Hi there,

Thats very interesting info, I don't suppose that you have the original source for that?? I haven't yet finished writing the course for them yet and I have done searches online before I got involved with them but nothing came up. I do already know that she lives in Malaga and uses a PO box, I used to live abroad and have to do the same thing, so I don't really have a problem with that.

I have no issues with them running my diploma as it is a sound course and it gives me a vehicle with which to be able to teach peopel holistic skincare production without having to own a college myself (something I doubt I'll ever do!).

I would like to investigate this properly tho so if you can offer a link to the original story etc that would be fab.

Thanks for your help :)

I'm afraid I don't have the link now, Star, sorry. I discovered all this about 4 or 5 years ago, when I started to get emails from her about her courses - I think she'd just started the SNHS. So I 'researched' her too, & came up with info that I wasn't too keen on! I looked for her by name, but I can't remember the name now, & she certainly doesn't tell it to us on the website! I think it was a double barrelled name, and she had a male 'partner'.

All I know is, loads of people study with her, and I'm sure as long as she pays you, you won't have a problem. I have no doubt at all of the integrity of your course, and I'm not trying to cast aspersions on you! :)

...a little later....I got her name...

Try this link - very iffy.

Just wanted to add....

There are loads of dodgy things going on in the complementary health world. They try to regulate us, the therapists, until we can hardly afford it any more, but the dodgiest stuff is related to umbrella organisations - it seems almost anyone can set one up, and no-one asks any questions!

[Years ago, when I was still pretty 'green', I took a course with the BSY. I was sent all the course info & study packs OK.....but when one day, researching on the internet, I discovered large slices of text on an unrelated website that had been copied by BSY & pasted into their coursework word for word...!!...I lost all confidence & realised that you have to be very careful who you choose to learn with!!]

Yeh absolutely,

It's very difficult these days to properly assess the school that you are training with, it's a nightmare really, unless you actually go to a university and get a degree in it then you're stuck trawling the net for suitable diploma trainers.

It's not like even the regulating bodies can help much as there is so many of them and they all recommend different schools!!! yikes, whats a student to do :)

I've seen the BSY advertising in many of the mags I buy, they have interesting looking courses but soooooo many of them I did wonder about the quality. shame really.

And healthy cynicism is a good thing in this world, alth I prefer to call it 'discernment' lol
