Hi everyone!

I have a short article on combining Reiki energy healing with other modalities, such as crystal and sound therapy, as well as prayer and aromatherapy. I'm listed under Phoenix, Arizona under Reiki. If you do a search for Reiki on the main page, you can find me there. My article is on my profile.

Hi :)
Does anyone use crystals with reflexology ? If so what do you use, I would be really interested in how they affect the treatment.

Many thanks.

Be aware that if you use Reiki with other healing modalities, you must ask the client first if they are willing to receive it! Reiki (as with all healing systems, I suppose) should always be given with the recipient's agreement.

When I give reflexology, I often give the client a crystal to hold in their hands - which one depends on the 'feeling' I get from him/her. Some seem to need a rose quartz, others a stone to balance them or to calm or energise them.

Hi there

I have Reiki I and I have told most of my clients that I am developing it prior to moving onto Reiki II. Prior to starting any of my treatments, I ask if they are willing to receive Reiki, if they are it's good practise for me and adds a little something more to their treatments.

When doing distance healing....I don't ask the person permission
for sending Reiki....as Reiki is universal life force energy and if they
are receiving of it, the universe will intervene and let them receive it.
If they are not open to receiving it, it will not be wasted as it will be
recycled in the universe and sent to whoever needs it. I never ask
people for consent when sending them Reiki. I sometimes will be
in a room with a lot of people and will just send it out to everyone.
I also would do it to the room as well. My teachers told me a cool
story of how they go out in their car for a "night out" and they just
drive around sending Reiki to random people and houses! Sounds
like a blast to me! teeheehee!

Hi Everyone and particularly to Richard who started this. I am a Reiki Master/ Teacher-but interestingly I don't use that title often. I use Reiki with all my other therapies (Tibetan and Indian Head massage, Yoga Massage, Life Tracking, Creative Kinesiology)-how can you not?. I use it on everyone and everything-animals, plants, food. My teacher said to me that if you use a trolley in the supermarket you leave a trace of Reikifor the next person, or on the packet you pick fom the shelf so I always shop with loving care now.

Can I recommend to everyone Dr Eric Pearls Book, The Reconnection (isbn 1401902103)-a refreshing read! He confirms for me that we are all part of the whole and shouldn't be hung up with techniques, rituals, modalities, protection. permissions and anthing else that comes from a place of fear.

We are blessed to be facilitators/ enablers/users of the wonderful energy that is available to us from the universe -if what we do is done with love and care that is all that matters.

Love, light, joy and sparkling stars

Kay

I offer to use reiki within aromatherapy and reflexology treatments if after the consultation I feel that they would benefit from it.

I always ask if they would like it included first, however, sometimes I think that when it is particularly needed the energy flows to where it is needed anyway.

Love and light

With all due respect, I think your reiki teacher has a highly developed imagination, Kay!!

If we went around 'dripping' reiki from every touch, I think this world would not be in the state that it's in!

It's a bit like a psychic who can tune in to others' thoughts - he/she learns to control when to do this and when not to, otherwise life would be chaos.

Fear has nothing to do with asking permission to give reiki. It is a courtesy. A reflexologist, for example, would not suddenly grab someone's foot & start to work on it for no reason, just because they thought that person needed it. This is an invasion of personal space. Some people do not want to receive reiki.

I find it interesting that the word "Reiki" is being used in the place of the word "energy" - at least that's what I'm picking up from these replies. Also, I find it amusing that everyone has a different name for energy healing. Let's face it, that's what all of these things are, correct? They're just different names/forms of energy healing.

Anyone can leave positive energy wherever they like, or even negative energy for that matter. I like to leave positive energy wherever I can because the "ripple effect" is alive and well and living in our world 24/7.

Anyone can send anyone energy or healing, but that doesn't mean that it will be accepted. Everyone has Free Will, remember? If they don't want your energy, they don't have to accept it.

Also, protection is VERY important! Without energy protection, any type of yucky energy can seep into our own energy. I know you've all felt it before. For example, you stop off for a cup of coffee on your way to work. The person who made your coffee is in a foul mood. He hands you the coffee and you drive away, sipping merrily. As the minutes go by, you start to feel kind of crabby. The mood continues at work and everything seems to go wrong. This is how someone else's energy can infect your own energy. If you keep yourself protected with positive energy, then you will be shielded from negative energy. It's as simple as that. See, I didn't call it "Reiki Shielding" or "Reiki Energy". Reiki is Reiki. I hope people don't start implying that it pertains to all energy work and all energy.

Peace,
Dawn

Sorry, I don't agree Dawn. Reiki IS energy, by differentiating different forms of energy, I believe, you are missing the point. How can you use only 'reiki' energy when this whole planet is based with energy. Calling it reiki or anything else is just we humans way of splitting things up. Energy can't be split. The Reconnection is claimed to be different from all other energies. Pearl, IMNSHO, is mistaken.

Well, Jon, it seems like there are those who disagree. From what I've seen and heard, Reiki is considered a form of therapy and not the actual energy of the life force. The word may mean one thing in Japanese, but the actual practice of Reiki means something else. Read on:

Definitions of Reiki on the Web:

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a system of Enlightenment and a Hands on Healing art developed in the early 1900's by Mikao Usui in Japan. It is an art that is passed from Master to student. The word Reiki comes from two Japanese words - Rei and Ki, meaning Universal Life Force Energy. The term "Reiki" is used to describe both the energy and the Usui system of using it. The original system by Usui was called Usui Reiki Ryoho. There are many variant's of Reiki being practiced these days. ...

Reiki is the practice of transmitting healing energy through the hands, based on simple, ancient healing techniques. Reiki is believed to have begun in Tibet several thousand years ago. Seers in the Orient studied energies and developed a system of sounds and symbols for universal healing energies. Reiki is said by its practitioners to be a form of complementary or alternative medicine, developed (or rediscovered) during the Meiji period (the late 19th century) by Mikao Usui (usui mikao 臼井甕男;) in Japan. It has gained popularity throughout the Western World. Nevertheless, because of the lack of objective evidence for its theories or its results, the scientific establishment considers Reiki to be quackery.

It seems as though the only thing we disagree on is the terminology. To me, energy is energy. If you had a general conversation among most people and used the word Reiki in place of energy, they would assume that you were referencing the therapeutic method.

Dawn :)

My husband and I are generally happy to treat a client with any combination of therapies according to the needs of the individual. As we expand our skills and practice we ensure all our clients are aware of this and that they may receive more than one form of treatment during a session. They also may be given supportive self care from any of the therapies we practice. Ie they may have a crystal treatment combined with colour and reiki or aromatherapy if appropriate. They may then for self care be given a simple crystal meditation or placement to use and an energetic aromatherapy product or both.

Neither of us is qualified to practice nutrition or flower remedies but we have sufficient knowledge to introduce these concepts if asked and help the client find an appropriate source. Needless to say these are on our "to do" list. We are also seeking to produce our own products and for (e.g.)flower essences when appropriate these will be from our own garden and allotment.

The only proviso in the business world is that the therapist is appropriately trained and insured in all treatments offered.

Bright blessings
Amy
