I thought Id share this message with you, pulled from www.ascension.net its a wonderful read, and applies so much to that which the "Secret2 Discusses, I personally love the "Secret" and have the Special Edition DVD Copy with Extra Footage, Improvements & Tons of Extras. Well enjoy the read, its a wonderful story & sharing. You ARE a Mini-God! Your Thoughts Create by Lisa Whatley You ARE a “mini-god.” Close your eyes and let the energy of those words really sink into your heart space. Ok, don’t … I know you are rolling your eyes right now because you don’t believe what is absolutely the truth; you ARE a “mini-god.” I too rolled my eyes a few years back when I learnt that I was a mini-god, also. I remember laughing loudly and blurting out, “Yeah right, as if!” But … Something kept pushing me to open more doors, learn more. There was this gnawing feeling inside me that told me to dig further, keep looking, be open-minded and discover if there is a potential that I could be god also. So, I held the thought of ‘humor me’ and began my search with an open mind. I already believed that I was a spark of the Divine, but I had never ever pondered the thought of having the abilities “like” God! Having the ability to create my life! I mean wow, that sounds pretty egotistical don’t you think? Or is it? I mean if we as humans can become like our own earthly parents and do as they do and we are made in the image and likeness of God, and this Grand Being is our parent also, then why not entertain the possibility that we inherited some of His/Her grand genes? Could that not be a possibility? I know the majority of the world says no, but I like to look outside that little box and expand my horizons, and in my writings rattle a few chains and shake some beliefs – that’s definitely in my DNA! Do you suppose I was born to be different? Or perhaps God made a mistake when He/She made me? Then I pondered the thought that perhaps our parents had been mislead and were teaching us from untruths they learnt. Could it be that our grandparents taught our parents from untruths? Could it be that someone somewhere got the information mixed up? Perhaps it was fear? Ah, yes that’s what it was! Fear! I was afraid because everyone around me believed lesser than themselves as well. So how could I believe different then them? I would surely be labeled as weird (oh yeah, I already was!) if I didn’t stick with their beliefs, after all I was taught that God was mean and vengeful and for heaven’s sake how could I dare to entertain the thought that I was God also! I would surely be sent to hell for eternity! Or would I? Who said I would anyway? I don’t remember God whispering that in my ear! Did you hear that? Or perhaps it was one of those human chain games, when a person whispers a story into someone else’s ear and that person passes it to the next person and as it goes on from person to person the story gets distorted but it keeps being passed from generation to generation, down the millennium and as each person hears it believes it is a truth. Is that when you started to believe and own it? When you were told by someone else? Where did this truth come from for you? Have you ever pondered the thought of where did that come from? Nah, I never believed that God was crazy as a loon and would send my soul to the fiery depths of hell. Wouldn’t that be child abuse? Isn’t that a control tactic that humans have passed on for generations? Tell a child/person that if they don’t obey your every beck and call that they would rot in hell for eternity!? That God would never forgive them? Nice control tactic! Scare the crap out of people and see if they enjoy having a relationship with God. Or was that perhaps reverse psychology with a drop of manipulation mixed into the equation? Hmm isn’t that just a thought to ponder? So once I got rid of everyone else’s beliefs, I found out I was afraid of being god also because that would mean I was a powerful creator. That would mean that I would have to take responsibility for everything that happened in my life. That means that I could NOT blame anyone for anything in my life ever again. Holy Hanna! I have the ability to create! But how could that be possible? I thought everything happened to me? I thought that was fate? I thought I didn’t have a choice? I thought God was mad at me? Dang, you mean to tell me that I made all this happen? You mean to tell me that I created my poverty? My nightmare of an abusive marriage (and here I thought God was just really pissed at me!) I created all that? How can all this possibly be!? During my research I discovered exactly what I was told. WE ARE ALL MINI-GODS! Not just me, not just your friend down the road, not just your pastor, preacher, minister or teacher – you too are a mini-god! Every single person on this planet IS a mini-god, granted nearly everyone is still hiding in the closet but it’s the truth as I know it! Just imagine all the possibilities you now have before you knowing that you can create anything your heart desires! Yes I said anything and that of course means both positive and negative experiences. I was definitely stuck in creating negative experiences! I certainly wish that inside the human baby handbook came a crash course for parents teaching them that we each create our own realities with our thoughts. Now wouldn’t that have made our lives a whole lot easier? Or would have it? It’s all a choice you know! You created your life, every aspect of it. You are not a victim of life’s circumstances, you created those circumstances with every thought and choice you made! Believe it or not but what you think today creates your tomorrow! Your thoughts directly determine your future. That is how you create like a mini-god! Your thoughts create. Let me repeat that so it sinks in. Your thoughts create everything in your life – the good, the bad, the ugly. YOU create it all! No one else but you. You created your poverty, wealth. You created your illness, health. You created the extra weight, ideal weight. You created your job loss, new employment. You created your eviction, new living space. You created the ending of your relationship, new relationship. You created … you created … you created … There is nothing in your own life that you haven’t directly influenced the creation of. Focus on what you want instead of what you don’t want. Your physical world as you see it now is the direct result of your thoughts that you created yesterday. Step further … the thought you had only seconds ago, just created your future! Being god-also is magnificently powerful! Be careful what you think and how you feel all the time. Where your attention goes, your energy flows! That means if you focus and think about never having enough money, the universal law says your wish is therefore granted and you will continue to experience lack. Why? Not because God doesn’t love you, because your thoughts created more lack energy. That means you are telling the universe via your thought signals that you are choosing to experience more lack! It’s the opposite of what you really are desiring. So you need to change your thoughts in a manner that reflects what you want, not what you don’t want! Let’s take a look at an example of creating. Let’s say you desire to enroll in my year long Self Mastery program. You visit my site, you look over the program and become excited. You know this is for you. You can feel your soul screaming for you to get involved to learn how to empower yourself. Then you reach the fee and you begin to THINK (create) to yourself: “This just isn’t going to happen. I don’t have that kind of money. I don’t even have extra money to make a monthly payment! I can’t come up with that kind of money! I’ve got bills to pay. I might lose my job! Oh my God what happens if my car breaks down? What if Jimmy needs his tooth fixed? My goodness what happens if my partner gets hit by a car and has to be put in the hospital? Oh this is useless. It’s not meant to be. Even though I know this program will be in my best interest I just can’t afford it.” You click off my site. You leave feeling defeated and angrier at your life circumstances. Guess what else just happened? The universe listened in on every thought you just expressed! No matter how much your spirit friends want to jump in and help you get into this program, they are stopped dead in their tracks because of YOUR commands. You stopped them and they can’t move! They must follow the universal laws and your free will choice to create what you desire. You choose to create the experience of not having enough money to enroll into the program. YOU made that conscious choice. Let’s change the energy to what you DO want to experience. You’re excited and you know NOW that the universe IS listening. So you express yourself in a positive manner and THINK (create) something like this: “I would absolutely love to participate in this empowering program! Although I currently don’t have the funds to join I AM petitioning to God and the Universe to somehow bless me with the funds! I am TRUSTING and thanking Spirit in advance for the financial dispensation to participate in this program! Thank you, thank you, thank you!” Wow! Can you feel and see the difference in positive/creative energy from this thought compared to the negative/victim thought before? You just granted the universe and your spirit friends into your life and miracles will occur if you keep your thoughts always at a positive level. Always knowing and trusting that your needs will be taken care of. If you drop back into the negative thinking … you WILL shut down the miracles. Apply this golden rule to every area of your life and watch in amazement the miracles that unfold! The Key is positive thinking … always! Regardless of what cards have been dealt, stay positive never giving into believing that you are a victim because without a doubt, you are not! You are a “mini-god” a powerful creator … I invite you to create wisely today! Until our paths cross again with love in my heart, I ask you to keep smiling and play in love! My experience is that we can and have been tricked from our power. This allowed others to manifest a reality we may not have wanted. Understanding how we have been tricked and how we can take back our power is an even bigger "secret" . For example, the TV I mentioned earlier. Of the billions who now watch TV regularly, how many turn on their TV not thinking about how they might be helping to bring all the war, chaos, and disasters they see on the screen into physical reality? I also think there are thousands of ways in which we have been tricked out of our power. A psychopath once generously showed me several of them--lies, confusion, distraction, gaslighting, trauma.... It's frighteningly easy to give up your power, lose focus, or be distracted. The good news is that we can take back our power, by healing and resolutely focusing on the future we want. Quote |

While I also agree with this, from what I see, most people do not want to take the responsibility for themselves, too hard, too much work..etc. To be responsible for yourself and your actions and circumstances, now thats a scary thought. Or as I often say, 'you are 100% responsible for everything that happens to you', but then that gets me into arguements, so I don't say it much. Quote |

Or as I often say, 'you are 100% responsible for everything that happens to you', but then that gets me into arguements, so I don't say it much. Actually, what I often see is people being misguided about HOW to take responsibility. Like the example in the movie about the guy who focused on his debt, instead of focusing on prosperity and drawing more money too him. Is it correct to say that someone in that situation is not taking responsibility or that they are using improper techniques to create what they want. That is the what I was trying to express in the other post. Plus, someone who goes through this, trying to take responsibility but not understanding HOW, may indeed get upset at someone tritely telling him or her to "take responsibility". He or she may also decide that it must be too hard. Telling such a person that they have been using the wrong techniques might get you a better reaction.. Other "technical difficulties" in using this properly, in my opinion, involve understanding how trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder work to manifest more trauma. Many times when a person has a traumatic memory that memory does not get stored properly in the brain. Normal memories get stored in what is called "narrative" memory. It is experienced like a story, "first this happened, then this then this.." I forget the technical term for how the memory is stored improperly, but what happens is that it is experienced emotionally as if it is happening right then and there. It is not always a full flashback, but emotionally the brain has trouble remembering that it is in the past. So, what you have with an unhealed traumatic memory is a continual remembering and focusing on the event loaded with all the initial emotions. These memories have to be put back into narrative memory, before they will stop attracting more trauma. Someone who "takes responsibility" by trying to suppress these memories or aviod them will fail, but they fail because they did it wrong, not because they didn't take responsibilty. I have seen many people go through this, in addition to experiencing it myself. Predators present another technical difficulty. If you have been operating under the naive assumption that everyone is good and you just send everyone love and light, life will be peachy. Problem is, there are people who consciously intend for others to come to harm. They seem to feed off of the negative energy from other people's suffering. The technical ability needed here is the ability to discern a predator, which is not often easy. In fact, I have a friend who has been applying the Law of Attraction to build a business. He had been doing very well. He had attracted some $300,000 in grants and was investing some $100,000 in property. Unfortunately, he also had a business partner who swindled him out of all of it. I would call that a case of failure to discern a predator rather than him not taking responsibilty. I think there are many more "technical difficulties", like social memes, belief structures, past life experiences, entity attachments, etc, that inhibit us from using the "Law of Attraction" properly and I am interested in exploring these. It has been empowering to figure out HOW I inadvertently created a very negative reality for myself. Learning albeit slowly how to apply it properly the past couple years has been an adventure to say the least. Quote |

A student of spiritual mediumship came in last week and said that the movie confirmed all the teachings we were attempting to spread. It can not all be about money, as that is not the focus we encourage. I will be seeing the DVD in the new year (after my Christmas present of a DVD player) and look forward to its message. Hello everyone, How long has the movie been around? I just heard about it 2 weeks ago while watching the Ellen DeGeneres show. I bought the book yesterday. From what I know so far this teaching has been around for quite some time. I did some training in the 80s and this kind of teaching was very much in the forefront for a lot of the classes that I attended. As someone on another page said we aren't really taught how to truly use this innate ability we have. Quote |

It has been empowering to figure out HOW I inadvertently created a very negative reality for myself. Learning albeit slowly how to apply it properly the past couple years has been an adventure to say the least. The Law of Attraction works through a mind that has no sense of humour, no sense of the ridiculous, and no sense of the sarcastic. Consider...how do we approach most things in life? We approach with our fears...then we use a sense of the ridiculous to say...this is not what I want. Where is the 'I Want' in this statement? The whole premise of the Law of Attraction is to keep it simple and viable for the mind to understand. Consider the mind a blank sheet. What we write is taken as literal fact and kept within the library of information. So when we wish to use the mind, we have a whole library on which to draw. What have we loaded our own library with, positive or negative? Positive starts now! Whether the past has drawn the negative or not...this is a new day and a new experience. Set the tone...set the attraction. When I went over the movie, I realized the 3 steps are not followed....1. ask (we can all do this right! Change may be necessary in mindset) 2. answer (listen to your own heart - it knows your path better than anyone else) 3. receive (know that you are worthy of receipt of all good. That may take some work on changing the negative mindset to decide your own worthiness). Just my take on the ideas..... God bless, J Quote |

The law of attraction is NOT affected by past lives. Past lives are just that, the reason we don't remember them is because we are not supposed to. They cannot be blamed for anything in this life. If you want to blame 'past lives' for something, you are living in avoidence/denial. Judy wrote: The Law of Attraction works through a mind that has no sense of humour, no sense of the ridiculous, and no sense of the sarcastic. Are you talking about the sub-conscious mind Judy? Self limiting beliefs come from the first 7 years of life, from conception. This period is known as the 'primary reference' period. Everything, and I do mean everything, that happens after this period, is a secondry reference. In other words our programming in our primary reference period will dictate how we respond under stress, unless you have had the negative programme 'defused'. Self worth, self image all come from the first 7 years of life. Our primary care-givers are the instigators of most of our programmes, as well as genetics from inside the womb (womb time is called 'life reference period'. As far as the movie goes, from what I have read here and in other places, it sounds interesting, but nothing new or inspiring, just fashioned in a way to reach more people. Many people have been using this 'law' for years. Last edited: 17-12-2006 12:52:04 PM

I agree the "law of attraction" has been used for years, however I feel that this movie has made it more palatable for the masses and is an indication that our potential and "right" to manifest is becoming accessible as we break free from the old conditioning that western society programs us to have. Its marketed better now! I don;t care how it is presented as long we all wake up to it and start realising our potential, this movies is a great introduction to this. As regards Past Life regression, I have used it as a therapeutic process to wonderful effect. I do not claim to know whether it has an effect or not on this life. All I know that that having dealt with and provided closure with issues from a past life have resolved psychological issues and physical ailments that clients come to me with. I generally stay away from PLR unless I feel I have to go there. The majority of my clients have issues that have been borne of instances and occasions dating back to the primary reference period, so I undertsand what you say on that score. Some clients who have had PLR have found it an amazing release. They previously had not had any regression done and were not even aware of it, so they could not attribute their limiting beliefs to it. No denial, no blame. Yet it was the one thign that set them free. (?) We do not live in a world of black and white where there are no shades of grey, and that belief/knowledge has always kept me humble and accepting of others. Whether people choose to blame past lives or not, given what I have achieved through using PLR, i would tend to say that it is a bona fide area of exploration when examining issues such as these. I remain open on the subject of PLR, there is too much we as corporal beings do not understand. I go with the view point that if I believe something I should test it to see if it stands up to scrutiny, if it does.... great, if it doesn't I have learnt something! As I said, you and I would have some wonderful discussions. Placebo - often used to label an approach that cannot be measured in a test tube....read power of the mind for that one (that my label, it more accurate). One of the most potent and under utilised resource in the treatment of any problem, especially physical ailments. Given that the mind affects your body on a cellular level, I find that when success is attributed to Placebo effect, its a big tick for me. Placeo Effect is what the limited western medical appraoch to wellbeing "Labels" something it cannot recreate in a lab. Jon, labelling PLR success as placebo is great for me also, as I have tapped into areas doctors and physicians could not touch through years of training and studying. That label is often accompanied by eyes flicking from side to side in a confused manner followed swiftly by a shake of the head, and the word "Placebo" thrown out in a hesiatant mumbled manner. The common approach is to treat the symptoms first and ignore the cause, I take a different approach and treat people as a whole. I recently had 3 clients who all lost their partners over the past year for one reason or another. All of them have had serious physical problems which developed right after their loss, co-incidence or not? And when the psychological issues are dealt with and the ailments clear up confounding "medical OPINION", is that placebo/faith or power of the mind, I know what I think. Its a question of being in balance, I treat everybody as a whole, as a being, as one functioning organism. When the mind is out of balance, the body that houses it is often in a similar state. I have seen too many instances of this (before and after) to believ otherwise. This is how I test my beliefs Jon, I do not present tham as fact, it may be arrogant to do so as there is so much I have to learn about this world. I can only talk about what I know to be true from my personal experience. If you come to me with evidence to the contrary I assess it and question it and either way it is a learnign expereicne for me. Question for you Jon, have you been regressed, either to your youth or a (heaven forbid) past life? I'm curious as to your certainty about PLR. Could you clarify? If ever we would be in the same hemishere, I would live to share a "holistic" pint with you one day. New Zealand is on my list of destinations within the next 2 years, get me a cold one in. Asif p.s. no secret at all the most remarkable thing for me about the movie 'the secret' was how completely unremarkable it was. not only was there nothing new, but a little deeper digging and i found myself on a deep path of enquiry into the pseudo-science that is being used to prop-up both The Secret and its precursor What the Bleep. from the research i have done [and it doesn't take much effort to google with critical search terms] there are numerous reports of those interviewed being unhappy with the finished product further, the 'science' that is being used to substantiate the claims - the foundation for which was paved in the public eye through What the Bleep - does not stand up under any degree of rational scrutiny. the great secret, it appears to me, is that life itself is unknowable - as soon as you start trumpeting about a secret in a multi-million dollar marketing campaign, you kinda have to wonder how much of a secret this really is. for a little critical reading, i suggest this ABC report, and, if that's not enough, try the blog post what the bleep were they thinking [this one is a little more unashamedly polemic]. i'm not out to be a dream assassin, but the rationale of cause and effect is based upon an outdated paradigm - that of a mechanistic world view. We all know that life is far too complex to be viewed in terms of mechanics, but we keep reverting to this view when we think we can get what we want it's a miracle that we are here at all - do we really need to know any more than that? cameron Quote |

Many of the people from 'what the bleep do we know' were also included in The Secret. I think there was a viewpoint from a more philosophical tone in the one, where science ruled the other. Just a thought... While the secret had nothing new...perhaps helping people to understand what they had actually been practicing took some a step nearer to their own understanding of life. Just a thought.... Those that have been and will continue to be seekers after answers and/or truths, will find them from many sources. Those that need some help finding the sources have this as a resource. Just a thought... The Unconscious has not sense of humor or the ridiculous. And the conscious draws its conclusions from the unconscious. God bless, J Quote |

Placebo - often used to label an approach that cannot be measured in a test tube....read power of the mind for that one (that my label, it more accurate). One of the most potent and under utilised resource in the treatment of any problem, especially physical ailments. Absolutly, couldn't agree more. Given that the mind affects your body on a cellular level As a Specialised Kinesiologist this is an all too obvious point. Jon, labelling PLR success as placebo is great for me also,Why is this good for you, you do NOT heal people, they actually heal themselves, sure you can help, but you, me or anyone else does not heal. As I said 'past lives' are just that, PAST, they have no bearing on our lives today, if they did, we would remember them. I have seen too many instances of this (before and after) to believe otherwise. Asif, I spend my time each day dealing with emotional/mental etc problems that manifest as physical problems, and I have been doing this for the last 10 years. This has nothing to do with the point of 'past lives'.
Question for you Jon, have you been regressed, either to your youth or a (heaven forbid) past life? I'm curious as to your certainty about PLR. Could you clarify? No I have not, I do not believe we need to delve into past lives to correct imbalance in this life. If we look as to why we came to this life as the person we are, we will not find an answer, other than what some 'medium' tells us. If our 'past lives were a basis for anything in this life, as I said, we would remember them. Asif, I would dearly love for you to come to NZ, it is an amazing country, full of wonderful things to see and do, and the people are just great as well. I'll look forward to that pint, however, I think we better set aside an afternoon, as their sems to be a lot we can discuss. That would really be great. nuovon, I found 'What the Bleep' to be inspiring and thought provoking, however, I'm not surprised that some of the people were not happy with what was potrayed, it was too short to be too explanitary. But I agree with your sentiments about 'The Secret' Last edited: 22-12-2006 04:11:37 AM

I got The Secret last year and shared it with my friends. Though excited at the time - we loved it and got very fired up - some months later, I see no real change in my buddies - if anything their old cars are older; they are still in the same houses they'd rather not be in given an option and they still need me to buy them a pint from time to time. You get the idea. Don’t get me wrong, my love affair with American-style personal development programmes isn’t over and this isn’t a bad case of sour grapes. It’s just that - as the pumped-up vapours of passion-driven law of attraction and manifestation energy have evaporated - the good sense I’m occasionally fortunate to glimpse has returned to the landscape of my perception. And no, I’m not criticising The Secret as some others are because it’s not right to not work hard to get what you want or because it panders to the most basic, materialistic urges in pseudo-spiritual new-agers. No, not either of these; because focussing on your intentions - for as long as is required to make them manifest - IS hard work; and wanton satisfaction of your most basic wordly desires can work wonders for spiritual development (see: “Buddha”). For me, The Secret fails humankind (yes), because it creates wanting. Whilst posing as a way to happiness, it creates the exact opposite - a state of mental unrest and longing - however pleasurable or modest. When we want, we are no longer content in the moment where we belong - where all happiness is. Put another way: you can’t be happy later on in your life (when all that stuff you are busy manifesting shows up); you can only be happy now. In this moment - NOW! And by the grace of God (or whatever other thing you beg to or praise in your worst and best moments respectively) that is only right. All have access to the joy of the moment right now - whatever their circumstances - regardless of what the future (and past) hold. So please don’t wait to be happy - when pay day comes or when the mother of all manifesting gives birth a la Secret - do it now. Love that strawberry! Quote |

Hi I joined today so I'm taking this opportunity to say hi to all of you - I got drawn to the message forum when I saw you were discussing about The Secret, which, coincidence of all coincidences, I watched yesterday (for free, on Google Videos). Having read quite a few personal development books this did not sound original or innovative at all BUT reinforcing the message, especially in bright technicolour, definitely is helpful. I am curious to hear if any of you got some tangible results from changing your mental patterns - I think the $1 note becoming $100,000 with the aid of a marker pen is such a cute idea! Off I go now, I've got a massage client - have a good day! Paola Quote |
