I think it would be really useful if this site allowed you to message all your friends at once - as you can do with a page on facebook or myspace.

Any chance of this happening?

Matthew

It's definitely a good idea and I will get my programmer to look into. We've just created a feature to allow admin (me) to message all members at once through the internal message system, and perhaps that can be adapted to allow people to message all their friends.

Thanks
Andy

Thanks Andy,

I really appreciate the response.

Matthew

PS facebook is a great tool, really dynamic and useful, why that cynicism from the other guys? I think its important to learn from the success of other networking tools and from what they do well.

Matthew, Facebook is mostly a social network where people socialise on the internet, and nothing of importance is usually discussed. There are no disagreements and very little discussion. Unlike this forum. Thats the difference. Your interpretation of what I said, sounds to me, like it was incorrect. I have always enjoyed this forum, simply because of the differences here. I have a page on facebook also, and sometimes have some fun with people I know around the world, not the same thing at all, and I would not like to see this forum become another facebook. I was in no way denigrating facebook or this forum.

In support of Matthew's comment!!

Oops Jon, you are not correct in that statement. Have a look on Facebook at Dr Mercola, a natural health practioner, with 65,000 plus fans. There is a discussion link there. And although, understandably, Dr Merecola might not reply other interested fans discuss amongst themselves.

Also on Andy's Facebook page he has posted some great video links on world economics that people have responded to. All very informative.

Yes Suzanne, you are correct, there are some serious aspects on Facebook, however, it is primarily a social networking site.

I agree with Suzanne and stand by my original statement. I think John you need to see Facebook in a new way, I have participated in lots of meaningful discussions there and see its social value and its spiritual value - as I do for this site.

I'm with Matthew and Suzanne on this one. I use HL in exactly the same way as Facebook for social networking, both are great tools. I just don't *poke* anyone here :)

I think Facebook can be useful but you have to think about who/what is behind it..........

Does what happens in the Facebook stay in the Facebook?

Notice DARPA is involved................The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)

What they cannot take by force they leave you to volunteer

BE VERY AWARE BEFORE YOU GIVE OUT PRIVATE INFORMATION
