I'm including the following short aticle in the Holistic Local newsletter today and putting it here in the interests of starting a discussion:

Cimate Change and the Great Cap & Trade Scam

As you're probably aware most of the world's leaders are currently gathered together in Copenhagen to try and agree on how we're going to solve the alleged global warming crisis and reduce CO2 emissions over the coming years. On the surface this sounds like a really positive development that should be welcomed by one and all; however, if you dig a little deeper, you'll discover that all that glitters is not gold!

It seems that what Copenhagen really boils down to is a way for the global elite to strong arm us into adopting a system that is being called Cap and Trade. The true colours of Cap and Trade actually reveal a system that has been designed not to protect the environment, but to protect big business. We you find out that the 'satantic' Goldman Sachs are behind it, then you know that something is very wrong!

Cap & Trade may seem like a move in the right direction, but it is fundamentally flawed, and I urge you to watch the following video to discover why -

The science is far from 'settled'

Not only does is seem that Cap & Trade is a giant money-making scam, but recent developments have shown that the 'science' of global warmng is far from settled and the recent 'ClimateGate' scandal has shown that a group of the worlds leading climate scientists who support the AGW (Anthropogenic Global Warming) theory are fudging their figures to fit their theories rather than using true scientific method.

Not only that, but despite what we're now being told by the our politicians and mainstream media, the majority of scientsist actually don't support the theory that climate change is being caused by man (more info here).

Personally I'm far from convinced that Global Warming is a reality (statistics actually reveal the globe has been cooling since 1998), however I've no doubt that on some level the climate will keep on changing - just as it has done since the dawn of time.

For me, the most sane voice I've heard in this whole debate is that of David Bellemy. David, in my opinion, is a true environmentalist in every sense of the word - someone who is not only deeply passionate about the environment but is also an activist who works hard to protect and conserve it. So nobody can accuse him of not caring about the environment or having a 'hidden agenda'. David strongly believes that all the changes to the climate we're seeing can be explained by natual cycles. There is a good interview with him here

The more I research this subject the more I'm starting to believe that the Global Warming 'Crisis' is basically a wild goose chase to distract us from the real issues that need addressing. It is basically about money, politics and control, and not about real science or protecting the environment. This is a shame because it seems like a lot of good people are being lulled into having the belief that, not only is Climate Change a real crisis, but that our governments actually care enough to do something about it so perhaps they're not the bad guys afterall ('Go back to sleep everyone, and trust the government to look after you!' ;).

This is actually quite dangerous in my opinion because it could mean that the more serious issues we're facing are not going to get dealt with. Issues such as the destruction of our rainforests, the pollution and over-fishing of our oceans, the rapid extinction of millions of species of wildlife and the general raping and pillaging of our beautiful mother Earth. Most of these issues could be solved far quicker and far cheaper than the trilions of dollars we've been told are needed to solve global warming. So why are we not doing that? Is it because the likes of Al Bore and Goldman Sachs haven't yet found a way to profit from solving them yet?

Also, before you respond to this article, please make sure you've looked at the links I've included, particularly the short video about Cap & Trade at:
