As some of you know I've been freezing my balls off in Canada for the last 6 months (although it's actually been a wonderful experience overall)!

I was expecting to stay in Canada for at least another 5 or 6 months and enjoy the summer here, however I've just had what I can only describe as a spiritual calling to go back to Peru. I was there for a few weeks about 11 years ago and fell in love with the place and have always had a desire to go back.

Anyway, now's the time I have to go back. I've booked my flight and I will be flying to Peru on 27th April. I have no idea how long I will be there for. It could be a few months or a few years. I'll be going to live in Cusco initially which is the nearest large town to Machu Picchu - probably the most incredible place I've ever been

I'm very excited!!

That sounds fantastic!
I'm just back from 18 months in Nova Scotia. It's beautiful (and extremely cold in winter). I may go back one day, circumstances permitting.

Hi Paul

Funnily enough, Nova Scotia is where I am now. I'm living in the town of Wolfville and have been here since last October. I was kind of expecting to stay here another 6 months but it seems that spirit has other plans for me. I'll be sad to leave Canada as I have some really wonderful friends here, but I'm incredibly excited about going to Peru.

I was in a little place called Mushaboom about 60 miles east of Halifax. Natural beauty and wildlife galore. Bald eagles, ospreys and hummingbirds. Porcupines and coyotes. I had to chase a black bear from the garden once. It was raking through the bin and making a real mess. It was about half grown and it looked at me for a few seconds, sizing me up, then took off. It was one of those interactions with nature that I'll never forget.
