Welcome to Chrysalis Therapy Training, a small, private, professional training school and an approved assessment centre by the Vocational Training Charitable Trust (VTCT), based in the North West of England. We provide accredited professional training courses for students looking to start a new career or further develop their existing skills. We also provide personal development workshops for individuals who want to develop their mind, body and spirit.
Chrysalis Therapy Training was formed by two professionally qualified, experienced and passionate holistic therapists and tutors, Cindy and Joanne to provide a unique learning experience. Our courses and workshops are designed to provide students with the necessary tools to facilitate growth and change, related to either their career or personal development.

Chrysalis Therapy Training is committed to excellence and our tutors are highly skilled assessors and internal verifiers with the VTCT. We have years of training as well as therapy experience, enabling us to pass on our knowledge to our students. All of our professional training courses and workshops are kept to a maximum of 4 students and never have more than 2 students to a tutor, maximising the learning experience.
Our approach to this learning experience is unique and a refreshing change to conventional training methods. We concentrate on giving our students not only the benefit of our experience and knowledge but the tools to enable them to transform their lives. We will be holding a special 3 day course, aimed at Reiki Master/Teachers who have a Western Lineage who wish to develop further and study the original teachings of Usui. This lineage is very short therefore nothing has been added to or taken away from the original teachings unlike Western Lineages where each Reiki Master has added to or rewritten manuals and teachings. Training includes complete instruction, review and practice in all 3 levels including original Japanese techniques, certification and manuals.
As this is a Japanese, rather than a New Age influenced branch of the system it does not include the chakra system but uses the Japanese energetic system. The system of Reiki is a set group of Japanese practices, the Five Elements of the system of Reiki that when brought together create a system that supports spiritual growth and healing. These practices work with spiritual energy and as the Japanese name for spiritual energy is Reiki we can see where the system’s name originated.
The lastest Japanese documents show that Mikao Usui referred to his system as Reiki Ryoho which means "Spiritual Energy Healing Method". Usui's students called it Usui Reiki Ryoho to honour their teacher's name and indicate that it was his system. Usui Reiki Ryoho involves original Japanese Reiki techniques and teachings that were not taught by Mrs Takata or passed on to the West in any coherent form until today. If you are an existing Reiki Master Teacher with a Western Lineage we invite you to join us on this special 3 day course were you will gain a fresh perspective and a boost to your spiritual and personal development. You will receive information and techniques that until recently were not available outside of Japan.
There are probably over 1000 different branches of Reiki being taught today and some incorporate Japanese techniques in their teachings, however these may have been added later and if Hawayo Takata or Chujiro Hayashi appear in the Teachers lineage then it is a Western Traditional branch of Reiki. Our lineage and indeed teachings are based on the Original Japanese teachings of Frans and Bronwen Stiene of the International House of Reiki and authors of the 'Reiki Sourcebook' which aim to reflect the practices that were taught by Mikao Usui during his lifetime.
