Dr John Brazier's award-winning training consists of 10 modules of one weekend per month. The modules include: 1. Muscle testing; lymphatic assessment; organ relationship 2. Classical Tuina Massage; Chinese medical theory 3. Spinal diagnosis and repair 4. Deep organ massage; candida; organemotion relationship 5. Acupressure; cupping therapy; pelvic diagnosis and repair 6. Stress and its psychological and physical release 7. Food intolerance testing; tongue and pulse diagnosis 8. Cranial assessment and balancing 9. Qi Gung Therapy for joints and organs 10. OBB application/clinical management.
Training is directly related to clinical practice, which makes the course focused and precise. For example, with tongue and pulse diagnosis only the usual types that
are seen in a UK clinic are taught. Students need to hold a qualification in a hands-on therapy, including anatomy and physiology, to enroll on the course. Teaching is designed to build on a student’s existing knowledge to enhance understanding of the new concepts. Students
often come from a range of different therapy backgrounds including aromatherapy, reflexology, nursing, physiotherapy and sports and fitness. OBB is being represented and taught in both Europe and Asia, including the world famous Chiva Som Spa and Academy in Thailand. Because OBB plays an ‘upgrading’ role in the education of therapists (in terms of diagnosis and
assessment skills in particular) it fills a large gap that exists between doctors and therapists. This has drawn a lot of interest from hotel and spa owners who want to
create medi-spas that can access the repair and recovery market.
