ADHD Family Management Programme is held over the phone with all training matireals e-mailed out to partisipants. The agenda for this programme ia as follows.
Week 1
Participants will learn the importance of using very clear language, which is paramount to communicating affectively with ADHD or Challenging Children.
Participants will learn why routines are so important to families of ADHD Children and the techniques for implementing the morning routine.
Week 2
Participants Will learn more about communication techniques, the words we use to produce a positive and productive outcome.
Participants will learn why we most change the way we deliver instructions and the tools and techniques to implement that change.
Week 3
Participants will learn how to deal with the stress they feel on a daily bases and what stress can do to a person if not dealt with.
Participants will learn the affects of giving the wrong and right type of attention to ADHD children
Participants will learn the fundamentals of setting family rules that are affective and productive.
Week 4
Participants will learn the reasons for implementing the afternoon routine and the techniques used for implementation.
Participants will be taken though the 3 stages of anger and learn to deal with anger at the first level, thus preventing a person from losing control.
Participants Will learn the importance of being assertive we will go through the stages of assertiveness and learn how we can adept to an assertive way of thinking.
Week 5 Re-cap.
Participants will learn the difference between asking and telling the ADHD child to do tasks.
Participants will see how by using productive discipline they will get a better outcome of an unwanted situation. They learn by delivering productive discipline. Their ADHD child will learn that there are consequences for their unwanted behaviour.
Participants will learn the importance of having a structured evening routine and what this will bring to the family and the ADHD child.
Week 6
Participants will learn how the problem solving process works and how to implement this process within the family. Once implemented problems will be solved more affectively.
Participants will discuss what skills children learn through play activities and how these skills could be used in adulthood.
Week 7
Participants will learn the benefits of using productive praise they will learn why, how and when to praise productively
Participants will learn the importance of self-worth and identity and what this brings to a person
Participants will have the opportunity to look back over the course and discuss any outstanding issues that have come up during the course but not dealt with.
