There are seven main energy centres in the body known as chakras. They can be described as wheels of bright colour, which spin in balance when we are healthy and happy but when we are unhealthy, ill or stressed, the chakras spin out of balance and need to be corrected. Balancing our chakras brings total well-being on every level, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
The chakras absorb energy that comes from our thoughts, feelings and outside environment and our body is affected by the quality of this energy. For example, if we have negative feelings, we will be filtering negative energy through our chakras and into our body and over time this can make us ill. Our chakras also absorb energy from the environment so other people's negative emotions or a room full of clutter will produce an unhealthy energy which we then absorb.
As therapists we cannot avoid coming into contact with negative energy as more often than not we are dealing with clients who may be releasing negative energy, but there is a lot that we can do to protect ourselves from harmful energy in the environment. Keeping our chakras balanced is vital to our own long term health as well as that of our clients.
Spending a few minutes balancing your chakras before you begin seeing your clients you will feel full of energy, positive and be able to give your clients your best. Balancing your chakras before you go to sleep at night will promote calmness, ease your mind, release any negative energy absorbed during your treatments and will promote a wonderful night's sleep.
