What is the aim of the Indian Head Massage course?

This course is ideal for those wishing to practice Indian Head Massage as well as those existing holistic therapists who are looking to broaden their practice. This highly effective therapy offers the maximum benefit with the minimum preparation, as the use of oil is not essential and the client remains clothed.

This is one of our shorter diploma courses and can be completed in approximately 6 months.

Originating in the East over a thousand years ago, Indian Head Massage, known as Champissage, (the Indian word for massage is champi), is based on the Ayurvedic system. It is believed to encourage growth and health. The massage deals with the balance and uniqueness of the individual.

Associations and memberships

Having successfully completed the course the student will have gained sufficient skills to practice Indian Head Massage and be able to apply for membership of the Guild of Holistic Therapsits or Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists, (subject to attending a 2 day tutorial.)

Like most of our therapy courses this programme is recognised by the Complementary Medical Association with full membership available to all successful students who also attend at least one 2 day tutorial at the Centre.
