No? Well let the team at Body and Mind change that for you. Join us each Monday morning for an hour of breath work and meditation guaranteed to sooth you and set you up for a calm, clear headed, balanced and therefore successful week.
The purposes for which people meditate vary widely. Meditation may serve simply as a means of relaxation from a busy daily routine; as a technique for cultivating mental discipline; as a means of gaining insight into the nature of reality; or as a way to connect with the Divine. Meditation plays a central role in most Eastern philosophies and religions and now in the West it is regarded as an invaluable aid to stress relief, anger control, and health care. Many people who participate in regular meditative practices report improved concentration, awareness, self-discipline and emotional composure. There is a long list of physiological and psychological benefits attributed to meditation including lowered cholesterol level, decrease in high blood pressure, reduced lactate, reduction in anxiety and depression, and increased happiness and feelings of vitality.
The Monday Morning Meditation Group is open to all who wish to experience meditation. Prior experience is not necessary as the facilitator will guide you through simple effective routines, but those who do have some experience are also welcome and may if they wish, contribute to the group by suggesting different meditation techniques. This informal friendly session oozes with relaxing yet re-energising vibrations and is guaranteed to bring you to a place of harmony, calm, and empowerment.
Run in blocks of 6 weeks x 1 hour every Monday, £30 for the 6 weeks. You can drop in for one or two sessions at £5 per session to experience the benefits for yourself before committing to the 6 week course.

Following 14 years of experience working with holistic therapies I have reached the awareness that our health is reliant on absolute harmony - an internal balance of our whole selves AND an ability to attain harmony with all that is external to us. To achieve this and maintain it day in day out for most people (including myself) is likely to be improbable considering our modern, high stress and largely materialistic lifestyles. However, I do believe that if we can attain a temporary sense of harmony for short periods of time on a regular basis, then we can greatly improve our well-being and state of health. To obtain balance within we have to become aware that all aspects of ourselves are linked. If we have a physical pain in our body we need to explore not just the pained area but also other areas that may be in some way out of synch. Our personality, behaviour, emotional state, energy systems, psychology along with our physiology are all so strongly interconnected that if just one aspect is not as it should be, then there is an increase in potential for ill health.
As an holistic therapist I feel that not only do I need to provide clients with wonderful balancing treatments that encourage stress relief and improve health, but I also have a responsibility to teach those who want to learn how to achieve a level of harmony within themselves, thus allowing them to feel in harmony with their external environment too. The workshops I facilitate enable me to pass on the tools that I have had success with and share with others techniques that can help many achieve a more peaceful and fulfilling life.
