Aromatherapy Module 1
What is it?
This one week intensive training course covers everything you need to know in order for you to:-
• Start practising aromatherapy
• Assess clients needs
• Buy, store and use essential oils safely
• Select blend & verify essential oils and carriers for treatment
• Massage and manipulate soft body tissue to enhance oil absorption and stimulate the natural healing process
• Treat clients with essential oils and oil blends through massage
• Review the effectiveness of aromatherapy programmes with clients
• Study 10 essential oils in detail
• Study 3 carrier oils in detail
This unit applies to any practitioner whose work aims to optimise clients’ health and well-being through aromatherapy wherever they practise ie from their own premises, in clinics, in hospitals, in mobile units or in the client’s home.
The clients with whom the practitioner works may be seeking to optimise their health and well-being. Clients may have no particular health needs or may have acute, sub-acute or chronic conditions, or be dying. The clients whom the practitioner is assessing may be new to aromatherapy, new to the practitioner, established in that the practitioner has been working with them for some while or returning to the practitioner after a period of not receiving aromatherapy.
Pre-entry qualifications required
Qualification in Therapeutic Massage with related anatomy & physiology

9.30 a.m. – 4.30 p.m. Including 15 minute Morning and afternoon breaks; 45 minute lunch
How much is it?
£450 for a full one week programme
£60 for assessment with an external awarding body
