Last night's Total Lunar Eclipse
Sunday, March 4th, 2007 4:29 PM
Sorry for not posting this 24 hours earlier folks! There was a LUNAR ECLIPSE last night at 13 degrees of Virgo, which became exact at 11.18pm GMT. It could be seen from somewhere around nine o'clock though (we were heading out at the time) here in Exeter as it was clear for most of the night. The heightened emotions and tensions of the Full Moon are made much stronger in a lunar eclipse. With the Virgo/Pisces polarity highlighted here, there is an emphasis on service, health, healing, compassion and spirituality.
The planet Uranus adds an element of unpredictability and unexpected events surrounding this lunation, while at the same time Jupiter expands on all this. Uranus is the awakener, it's influence being about sudden flashes of insight, which open us up to new ways of thought and new experiences. It can be disruptive if we like to 'keep things in little boxes' (as Virgo is wont to do at times!) but it's a productive influence ultimately. With Uranus in Pisces (a seven-year influence) the message is one of finding new ways to express our compassion and our spirituality, and to be of service, and shaking up the old.
The Jupiter-Uranus square is an ongoing aspect in the sky which the eclipse last night picked out and highlighted. The effects of eclipses are much longer lasting than ordinary full or new moons and can stick around for months rather than weeks.
Fairly obviously, this one is influencing Virgos with birthdays around the beginning of March, 1st - 5th in particular, and also Pisceans. It may also affect the other mutable signs, Sagittarius and Gemini. Not just for birthdays though - anyone with planets which are around 11 to 15 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Sagittarius or Gemini (check your charts if I've sent you one) and will influence you according to the nature of the planet in your chart that is affected. Have a look at which houses in your chart the eclipse affects also, to get clues about which area of your life will be affected.
Of the two people clearly exhibiting upset and emotional reactions while I was out last night, one was a Pisces and the other a Virgo (and these not even within the birthdays I've outlined above - eclipses can extend that range because of their power).
Any feedback about your experiences of the lunar eclipse would be welcome : )
