World Reflexology Week 23rd to 29th September 2007

By Kathleen Nathanael

What is World Reflexology Week (WRW)?
WRW was conceived by the President of the International Council of Reflexologists, Bob Flocco, in 1994. Since 1999, WRW has fallen on the last full week in September.

The aim is that in WRW all reflexologists will do one small thing to promote reflexology on a local level. This includes taster sessions, talks and special offers for new clients and any other activities you have the time and initiative to undertake. Local promotions instigated by thousands of reflexologists will have a global impact!

What are the benefits of Reflexology?
Reflexology can be used to help restore and maintain the body’s natural equilibrium. This gentle therapy encourages the body to work naturally to restore its own healthy balance.
Reflexology has been shown to be effective for:
• Back pain
• Migraine
• Infertility
• Arthritis
• Sleep disorders
• Hormonal imbalances
• Digestive disorders
• Stress-relate conditions
Reflexologists do not claim to diagnose or prescribe.

Who can benefit from reflexology?
Reflexology is suitable for all ages and may bring a relief from a wide range of acute and chronic (long-term) conditions. Many people use reflexology as a way to relax the mind and body and counteract stress, many healthcare professionals recognise reflexology as a well established and effective therapy.
Reflexology helps us to cope on a physical, mental, and emotional level thereby encouraging us to heal and maintain health in all areas of our lives.
