Be a Winner!

Be a Winner!
Are you leading the life you want to lead? Are you really happy with all aspects of your life?
If you are, according to recent studies, you’re amongst only 15% of the population! So, if you’re not feeling on the top of the world, you’re not alone.
But what are you going to do about it? We often know what we ‘should’ or ‘ought’ to be doing, but we often find it difficult to put those ‘shoulds’ and ‘oughts’ into practice. So what holds us back from making life better and becoming one of life’s real winners?
The answer? We do.
Not deliberately of course. But many of us hold limiting beliefs and thought patterns which affect what we do and how we do it. This in turn, affects the outcome. Negative belief patterns about ourselves, money, career, how we look etc., actually manifest themselves in our lives. Conversely, of course, the same applies. So, if we think, speak and behave positively about ourselves and our lives, we’re much more likely to find happiness in ourselves and our lives.
So what can you do to ensure you become a winner. Here are a few tips :
1. Drop the victim mentality! We all have difficulties in our lives and none of us know what it is like to be anyone else but ourselves. Adopting a victim attitude is more likely to attract more of the same into your life and is also denying that you have any responsibility for the outcomes in your life.
2. Take responsibility for what is in your life right now and look back at what you could have thought, believed or done to have encouraged any troubling situations to come into your life. Look particularly for patterns which repeat themselves. Same situation, different scenario. Look at what you could do to prevent this from happening again. Once you’re aware of what thoughts, beliefs or behaviours have contributed to a repetition of any negative events in your life, you can start to consciously do something about it.
3. Adopt a winner’s attitude – a success mentality! Because our thoughts and beliefs about ourselves are so powerful, it’s good to become aware of what makes you feel good and then to do more of it! Look at your strengths and successes in life and focus on these. What did you do that was right in these situations? How did you feel about them? What were you thinking at the time? How did others react to you? What successful patterns do you have to repeat to ensure that you are one of life’s winners?
Spend more time with people and doing things that make you feel good, be grateful for what is good in your life right now (there’ll always be something, whatever your situation), watch uplifting movies, read uplifting books and articles. Put yourself in a successful mindset and focus on what is positive and you’ll attract more of the same.
4. Studies have also shown that most of us have some form of low self-esteem at some point in our lives, regardless of our social standing, race, creed, age or sexuality. So work on that and remind yourself that you are as worthy and deserving as anyone else to lead a happy, healthy and fulfilling life.
So, you made mistakes – who didn’t? So, you could have done things better – who couldn’t? Dwelling on past perceived failings will keep your self-esteem low and keep you in a negative system which is unlikely to produce the results you not only want, but deserve and have a right to.
5. Talk and think yourself up. How many really successful people have you come across who talk themselves down? It doesn’t matter whether you truly believe it or not to start with, always talk and think about yourself positively.
What we say in words is most likely what we think about ourselves and believe about ourselves. So become aware of how you speak and think about yourself and stop apologising for being you and start living the life you deserve.
There is not a single being on this planet who is perfect – whatever ‘spin’ they may put on it. And what’s more, you are unique! There is nobody else exactly like you and there never has been. So you have a unique right to be here and to be a winner! Today’s the day to start thinking, believing and acting like a winner.
