Drink more water

By Jayne Walker

Most people drink too little water.....and in winter we often don't drink enough as we may not feel as thirsty; by the time you are thirsty you are already dehydrated.
One of the simplest ways of helping your body to function better is to provide it with more water. Water flushes out waste products and may be enough to stop constipation.
Even if you are not constipated your body will appreciate more water.

The best water is with nothing added

If you find the water that comes out of your tap intolerable, try filtering it which will take out the chlorine, although if you stand the water in a jug overnight the chlorine will evaporate.
( only a reverse osmosis filter will take out all impurities such as heavy metals etc)
If you're not sure its wise to get your water quality tested, or ask a Kinesiologist or Dowser to test how you individually react to your source of water ( including bottled water )
Generally people need about 6 to 8 glasses of water a day, though its good to drink more if you can ( not withstanding certain bladder or kidney problems)

Tips for increasing water consumption:-

start the day with hot / tepid water with a slice of lemon or lime

Keep water with you at all times and sip often.

If you want a cup of tea- drink a glass of water while the kettle boils, then see if you still want the tea or coffee

keep still water near your bedside.

Follow every stimulant such as tea, coffee or alcoholic drink with a glass of water

Experiment with drinking hot water instead of tea or coffee

Its a small price to pay for the benefits!
