Energyscapes - INTUITIVE ENERGY ART

I sit in the stillness & wait.
My eyes are closed; it’s the best way to see.
I feel a presence, an energy that brushes my skin, I catch my breath.
As colours form behind my eyes & flow through me,
I know it is my cue to take up my brush, to trust & to exhale.

This is when I feel most humble, naked & afraid.
I attempt to do justice to the exquisite energies that move through me, to surrender & to silence my fearful ego that wants to create recognisable form.

As a child I used art to understand & observe the world as well as to escape it. It made me feel better. Five hours would pass in a moment & I would feel as though I had been hiding out with secret friends in a safe & peaceful place. I have memories of seeing energy & knowing what others were thinking & feeling. I was aware of lines, forms, grids, dancing shapes & clouds of colour flowing around & through people. I now remember key moments where I suppressed this awareness; to spare the grown ups their fear & confusion. It was the death of my mother in 1997 & an ensuing series of dramatic spiritual awakenings that lead to a re-activation of these abilities.

What followed was intensive personal inquiry, initiations into healing traditions, shamanic apprenticeship & energy training. I am now developing a practice as a healer & energy coach. I realise that what happens when I paint is what happens when I work as healer. But it is facing a canvas & surrendering to this energy which claims passage that is the most confronting & levelling of all.

I cannot in all conscience claim credit for what appears on the canvas any more than I can a client’s healed wound. I am a conduit, a connection between the seen & the unseen.

What has recently emerged is a collection of paintings called ‘Energyscapes’.
Each piece continues to emanate energy after completion. I see & sense this as a healing energy uniquely resonant with whoever is viewing it.
Each painting is a mirror. What will you see?
