Resurrection Day
By Katy Luurtsema
"I know that my Redeemer livith"! Lately I have been pondering a lot about Resurrection life and the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus said He was the first of many "brothers". He was the first to overcome death. He arose from the dead. The Christian feast of Easter, or what some prefer to call Resurrection Day, celebrates the fact that Jesus, after His body was in the tomb for three days - that very same body... came back to life again. The Bible says it was the mighty energy of God that raised Him, and that WE can have within US that same mighty power (Energy) that caused Jesus to come back to life.
Describing this from my "holystic" point of view, and in more scientific, modern terminology, this mighty energy (chi, prana, life force) is all around us in different forms. Was Jesus' body transformed from a physical "dense", earthly form to a spiritual, light, higher frequency type of a body? After all, He could appear and disappear, and walk through walls. But he was not just a spirit... for He also ate with his disciples. He had an altogether different kind of body....
Some Christians speak of the coming Rapture. They say that this is supposed to happen before the second coming of Christ, and will happen very soon.... All "Christians" will be instantly transformed, "in the twinkling of an eye", into a spiritual body and will go "up" to meet the Lord Jesus in the air. Those Christians who have already died, however, will be the first to rise... to have a new body.. Resurrection Day. Check it out.... As the flowers, and trees, and plants are coming up into a new life in the Spring, so will we someday.
But have some already been "raptured"? Transformed? What about mysterious disappearances of individuals... those unsolved mysteries? What about the people of Maya.....? According to the Catholic church, the Virgin Mary has already been "raptured". When Jesus died and said, "It is finished", many tombs were opened... "dead" people were walking around in their new bodies... salvation had been won. Had they been raptured? Were they the first "group" to get their Resurrection bodies?
Jesus said: "I am the Resurrection and the Life, he who believes in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live, and whosoever lives and believes in Me shall never die." Can some of us, now in our earthly bodies "never die"? Can we believe enough, obey enough, love enough so that our body will be transformed to a higher frequency? Can it happen gradually? Or even instantly? Now? Some of the Saints of old are known to have retained their natural bodies long after death.. have never decomposed.. Did they almost get their "Light" bodies?
In any case, and according to many "end time experts", soon there will be a very, large group of people to get instantly "raptured". I want to be one of them! I want my Resurrection body. I want to soar through time and space and learn and explore....go higher and higher...along with the Angels and the Saints....
Blessed be the Name of the Risen Lord! Happy Resurrection Day!
