Seeing Eden

The Higher Self or Dreamer is much more vast then the part of you we call the Observer. It can’t be defined or in other words contained with words. Just as light cannot be contained within a container. So, who are you apart from your Dream, your history, the rolls you have played and the rolls you play now? A question to reflect on so that the Dreamer can reflect on the Dream that has been created, the container it finds itself in.
When you were a little child seeds were planted and they grew into a great garden in your fertile mind. Gardener, it is time to look at what has taken root and what has matured. What no longer serves in it’s growing? What tree will you nurture? What tree will you prune? Will it be the tree of life or the tree of knowledge?
The tree of knowledge is all things you believe to be real. This tree is strong and sturdy. It has a great structure. The mind supports this structure and believes it is real though it is only an illusion. The tree provides us with protection from our fears and the world we believe can harm us. Soon the structure is no longer flexible. Soon we have invested in a self and we believe that this is who we are. This knowledge has formed an image of our self and as we mature it grows ever more sold and strong.
Many people in your life tended, fed, nurtured and invested themselves in the growing of this tree. They tended only the limbs they recognized as them self and pruned the limbs they could not except or relate to.
Do you have the courage to examine every leaf on this tree? Following each leaf to see the limb that has been supporting it? Are you willing to study the rings within the trunk of this tree, the rings that have developed with each year of its life? Do you know what food has given the tree sustenance? What fertilizer was used and who placed it at the roots? What are the core issues, the roots that have supported this tree for so long?
In tending the tree of knowledge a few tools are needed. Insight is the first tool used for pruning. It is the ability to watch and use your power of observation. You can only change what you are willing to see. Determination is another tool of the Gardener. Determination is the relentlessness of the Soul. It is the warrior within, who knows you are not going to give up the fight. In other words it is the evoking of your will. Still another tool for the garden is Action. Having the ability to follow through and to make the cuts that you have determined are needed or required. Finally Faith is a tool used by many Gardeners. Trusting one hundred percent that when the tree of knowledge falls, the Dreamer remains.
What will it be like to live without the shade of the tree of knowledge? You might say that one could clearly see Eden.
