THE MIND BEHIND THE MEDIUM - HOW IT WORKS

As a working psychic medium, I am blessed to meet lots of folks. I work for people in seminars, private readings and in groups; and many times I get questioned. The main questions I get asked from folks are “how did you know that you had this gift”, and “what is the difference between you and me?”. To answer these questions, I will share some of my personal history that leads into my current working experience as a certified ordained mental medium.
I always knew as a child I was different due to how I related - or didn’t relate - to my peers. I didn’t know that the differences I carried (or then suffered) were “gifts” until the age of 19. While listening to music I asked the then boyfriend if he liked the colors that went along with the music. He wanted to know what I was on? He didn’t see colors when music played - and at that moment it dawned on him why he couldn’t lie to me, why I knew who was on the phone when it rang (this was long before caller ID), etc. “You’re psychic!” he declared. And voila, the beginning of my personal psychic awareness or journey into metaphysics began.
Horrified with his diagnosis, which seemed to me just another way to be “weird” girl, I spent a few years attempting to hide my gift, not discussing it with anyone, and trying to squash the information I was automatically receiving from spirit. This of course, did not work, and only increased my agitation and frustration with the lack of control I didn’t have over what was happening to me.
It was around that time that a friend showed me how to do a psychic reading with a regular deck of cards. This gave me some semblance of control or organization to the psychic thoughts that plagued me, and I really took to the work. However, if you exercise a muscle it grows, and, seven years into those working experiences, the voices started. Shortly after that I started seeing faces in my car mirrors, and was able to walk into peoples homes and “just know” when someone had passed there.
Thus began my quest for a “teacher”, as at that point, I knew I REALLY was different, that, or I was needing a pretty white jacket with lots of buckles in a big way. A few years into that search, I did meet a teacher, who is now a wonderful friend, and my spiritual direction really came together. I learned that there were actually names for the gifts I have and events that I encountered.
There are “psychic senses” just as there are human or physical senses. These senses work “subjectively” most of the time in most mental mediums. Subjectively meaning internally - or inside the mind and body of the medium. I also learned that there were ways to “open” and “close” my own energy to spirit, to provide myself with some much needed separation from psychic and spiritual energy and relish in human physical rest.
You’ve heard or read the term clairvoyance, this actually means something! Clair coming from the French (derived from Latin) meaning “clear” and voyance from voyeur meaning “to see”. Put them together you have Clear Seeing. This process works just as your own memory does. You can recall moments from your life and they come to you in your head in the form of snapshots - a series of little pictures - or maybe a little movie inside the front of your own mind. This is the same thing a medium would “see” inside his or her own mind, only it would not be their own personal memories - the snapshots or movies would be directed to the medium from spirit.
The other psychic senses are Clairaudience, Clairsentience, Claircognoscence, and Psychic Empathy. Clairaudience is clear hearing - the medium can hear a voice that is different from their own inside their head. Clairsentience or clear sensing is the ability to physically feel or sense feelings, illnesses, events or happenings - the medium will physically feel things on or in their body from spirit. Claircognoscence is clear cognoscente - or “just knowing”. The medium will respond to questions or spirit almost instantly, seemingly “just knowing” the answer. This is the medium plugging into spirit and simply responding without even thinking. In fact, one of the very BEST ways that a medium can work. The less time and attention the medium gives to the information that is coming through - regardless of which sense is being used, the better. Psychic empathy is actually an overwhelming emotion or sense of emotion from spirit - this can be any emotion, but in particular the greatest of these feelings that is shared is love.
Each reading for each individual is a journey for the medium through all of the psychic senses. While working for one person during one reading, I may use all the psychic senses or just one or two. Many psychics or mediums are gifted more strongly in one psychic sense or another; however, it seems that the longer I work, the more each psychic sense is used during each reading. So during a reading with me you could experience me saying to you (the sitter) that I am hearing him or her say… I am seeing a (an item)… I am feeling a pain in/on… I am getting the idea that…. Or I am feeling an overwhelming sense of…. to get you all of the information that spirit wishes to share with you at that moment.
This is how spirit works from the other side through the mind of the medium to quickly send the best possible information at the time that you are receiving the reading.
My experiences in metaphysics continue to grow through working, sharing and learning as they have over the course of my life and, as my teacher and mentor always tells me, “We are all always learning”.
