Marketing Shorts 3: Even your fans will forget you
By Andrew Ferguson
Even your fans will forget you if you don’t stay in touch.
None of us likes to be blitzed with advertising, but it does pay to keep in touch with key clients and allies.
Vary these contacts – a phone call, a personal meeting, an email, a monthly useful tip in a newsletter, sending a copy of an interesting news cutting, a Christmas card, always something helpful and friendly and never pushy.
Social networking sites can be a useful part of this staying in touch. They are short and unobtrusive, and people only look at them when they feel like it. Twitter is a little more serious, but facebook can also be pretty good.
ACTION: make your monthly client “contaction” plan a top priority.
