What is your inner child?
Your inner child is the part of you that is your “GUT” feelings.
Often circumstances in life may mean you feel bad, vulnerable, inadequate, not good enough, lonely and empty inside.
So your inner child tries to make itself feel better by being addicted to a wide range of substances or behaviours e.g. alcohol, drugs, food. Or you may be addicted to needing others to make you feel better about yourself.
When you connect to your inner child you can feel energetic, creative, joyful and trusting. You will feel a sense of inner power and complete control over your life. You will not be easily controlled by others.
You will know what is right and wrong and what is best for you. You can make powerful choices to help your life without being dependent on the need to seek approval from others.
To love another you must first learn to love yourself. But how do you do that?
You need to be aware of your needs. Your inner child knows exactly want it wants and needs to feel loved. You are born to know about love, how right and good it feels.
You may through experiences learnt to mistrust the messages from your inner child. When to listen to these messages you will create an internal self connection. You will feel assured, purposeful and have self respect.
So how do you connect with your inner child?
Give yourself a chance. Stop telling yourself you are not good enough and try some self nurturing activities instead like : Dance, play, read, go to the zoo, visit the beach, paint, draw, have a bubble bath and so on.
