Holistic health professionals throw down gauntlet

By Carl Munson

Despite countless medical breakthroughs and pharmaceutical drugs hot on the tail of every disease, the general trend of health and vitality appears to be going down. Our vast ‘health’ service, dogged by funding problems and infected with super bugs, seems to be losing the battle against chronic disease.

As a society, we live in fear of life-threatening conditions such as cancer, heart disease and obesity, and we put up with disabling conditions like arthritis, ADHD and ME, rarely asking why these afflictions occur – just taking the medicine on offer, as well as the side effects.

To Health Transformation UK, a newly formed network of holistic health professionals, this scenario is nothing short of the ‘emperor’s new healthcare system’. To them, the answer is perfectly clear. What they don’t understand is why there is no public outcry about the pitiful state of the nation’s health and its slow shuffle to diseased old age.

“Simple, cost-effective solutions exist to the health problems faced by just about everyone we meet – whether they are physically or mentally ill.” Says Carl Munson, founder member of Health Transformation UK. ”Trouble is, they keep going to the NHS, which is effectively bankrupt in terms of common sense healthcare and is so de-personalised.”

“A hospital is a great place to get fixed up if you have an accident or are in serious pain, but for the chronic, metabolic and environmental diseases - that are all on the rise in our society, we say get a second opinion.” Adds Carl.

HTUK’s central philosophy is that the body essentially heals and maintains itself and that to invest in our health, we just have to supply the right conditions and building materials. In simple terms, that might mean a simple improvement in diet and other lifestyle choices. To this end, HTUK offer a Health Transformation programme that assesses clients on an individual basis, recommending personalised improvements with an emphasis on enjoyment.

“Nutrition and lifestyle influences such as stress, over-acidity and toxicity are where the NHS falls down big-time.” Says Damian Houston, another HTUK member and nutritional microscopist. “This, however, is no longer a battle between conventional and alternative medicine. This is the battle for the return of common sense, natural law and a respect for the human body.”

HTUK are so confident about their approach that they offer a money-back guarantee to anyone interested in their approach from the point of view of losing weight and those suffering from a lack of energy, which they say is easy to deal with.

“Clearly, there’s only so much you can do with your health, there are external factors beyond our control.” Says Carl. “That said, most people are not doing as much as they can and are looking for a quick fix when things go wrong and letting the NHS pick up the pieces and the cost. We only work with people serious about taking responsibility for optimum health.”
