THE ESSENCE OF AN ANGEL
Imagine an angel! Not the appearance of an angel, with wings and a halo—the vital core—the essence of an angel! Imagining an angel is like touching the finest silk, like the nectar of food to a starving person, like coming home on a cold winter's night. Angels rest in God, so they have no fear. Angels know that God is working through them, so they are not critical of themselves or others. Angelic energy is so soft, so accepting. Angels are the exact opposite of rigidity and harshness.
Angels are essentially formless form. In this way, you might say that angels are in constant motion, open and flowing like water. Water can be soft or hard, friendly or dangerous, depending upon how we approach it. The same is true of angels. Angels can appear in any form that is needed.
Human beings may have different experiences of the same angel. An angel who has come to protect you may appear as beautiful to you. To someone who intends to harm you, the angel may appear as terrible and frightening. Still, the only experience anyone can have of an angel is one of love. Just as the bright light of the sun can blind someone emerging from darkness, so can the sight of an angel blind someone who is unable to withstand the full onslaught of an angel's love.
