A flush of attraction, a meeting of minds, you feel like you’ve known each other before, your heart races & you can think of little else but being together again. The birds seem to be singing just for you & everyone says you are glowing. Sound familiar? You are falling in love. Part of the fun is the falling, not asking why or how, just letting go & enjoying the process.
You may go on to enjoy a happy, nurturing partnership but it is rarely these people who want to probe deeper to understand the hidden dynamics of their relationship – why rock the boat? It is when things go wrong or just don’t feel satisfying that you want to take a closer look.
I use the word ‘energy’ in place of ‘the dance of consciousness on a mind/body/spirit level’. For me it is an act of survival & growth to examine the energetics of a situation as I feel it so acutely in my body every day. Even if you don’t feel or see energy it still has a profound effect on your life.
Surrounding each of us is a bubble, this is our energy field. There are many layers to our energy fields but for purposes of brevity I shall refer to our general energy field. When we enter into an intimate relationship, however fleeting, our personal energy field begins to connect with that of the other person via energetic tubes or ’links’ that are stronger than every day etheric links.
At first you may resonate with each other on a mental, sexual, spiritual or heart level. Whichever comes first, an energetic link is established between the parts of your bodies relating to that resonance. So if it is initially a sexual attraction, an energy tube will form between you at the genital area, somewhat relating to the base chakra in Eastern Medicine.
There is a moment after several links have been formed when a larger energy field is formed surrounding you both, this is your Relationship Field. It is the strength of & dynamic within this field that determines the success of a relationship. There is much you can do to build & nurture this field but as most people are unaware of it it goes largely under nourished. This is where the problems start & the balance within the relationship changes.
