Hypnotherapy the best way to Stop Smoking?

By Suzanne Zacharia

People give up smoking with hypnotherapy or nicotine replacement therapy, don't they?  You probably know a few people who quit smoking with hypnosis yourself.  Naturally, it is the complementary health method of choice for most.

Hypnosis has been around for a long time.  Studies have been made, articles have been written, hypnotherapists have done their statistics, and it all adds up to astounding success.   So why is it that this hypnotherapist uses mainly EFT and NLP in the waking state?

There are two types of client that come to see me.  First of all, there is the client that expects to look at a watch moving side to side, become totally unconscious, and then wake up a completely different person.  If only hypnotherapy worked like that!  Then there is the newly-emerging kind of client that wants to be empowered from within themselves.

Beauty is not the only thing that truly comes from within.  Strength and calmness are there too, if you only knew how to look for them.   So what is this all about, I hear you say?  Well, EFT, or Emotional Freedom Techniques, of course.

EFT was founded by an NLP Master and so shares some elements with hypnotherapy, which contains some NLP.  Only EFT goes much further.  It gets to the root of the problem, and in skilled hands, you can expect this root to diminish and usually disappear.

With EFT, practitioners are taught that the emotional reason behind the need for cigarettes is the anxiety that drives this need.  Remove the anxiety, and you remove the need.

EFT goes further than talk methods because there is a very real physical element to it.  You stimulate acupuncture meridian end-points as well as talk, with no needles whatsoever.  You just tap, usually with two fingers on these special buttons on your face, hands and body.

Anyone who has done EFT has probably noticed drinking water during the therapy and going to the toilet soon after.  So toxins are clearly being washed out of your body as you go along.  Very much a physical thing.

Clients also feel better equipped to deal with stressful situations after EFT for stopping smoking.  And that is an emotional thing, a mentally positive and strong state of mind.

Sounds too good to be true?  Well, if this hypnotherapist is using mainly EFT for the most widely-used hypnotherapy service, there must be a very good reason.  Try it for yourself one day, you will probably like the result.
